Something Fun

Here are the covers of the past 2 papers from where I work. I am really proud of the past two papers that we have produced because we have been revamping our paper and trying to make a name for it. We recently combined the Wayne County Star and The Post Herald to bring back The Lakeshore News. When I first started working here we were really struggling, our readers didn't like the change, but since then I, along with my co-workers have been working our butts off to produce that "down-home" news that people love to read about. With that said, our biggest challenge each week is the front cover.

Every week we are always debating on which stories and photos should make the front cover. This is one of the most important parts of the paper because the front cover is what people see first, what's on the front cover could be a huge deciding factor on whether someone wants to purchase our paper or not. Coming from a small community, and not the only paper in town, we have to have to do a bang up job with our cover to compete with the other papers.

Hope I didn't bore anyone to death, just wanted to share and give people something to think about... When you pick up a paper, what kind of photos capture your eye and make you stop and truly look at it.
